i am looking for places to fish in and around gauteng (+- 1 hour from sandton) that i could go out on a saturday for the day. what else would i need? fishing licence?? etc.

also check out Footloose trout farm they have carp trout and barbel in there dams they are out past dainfern near to diepsloot dont have the contact info for it though good luck brookwood is definatly the better of the two.
also have trout carp yellows and bass and the fascilities are realy nice

murray park in springs - good bass, dodgy place though
brookwood - as mentioned before
dam in edenvale (behind home warehouse) - R250pm, BIG bass, lots of carp, barbel
Otherwise vaal dam/river is only 1hr drive

Barbus Haven Fly-fishing in Magaliesburg. We are a small venue that offers trout/bass and vlei kurper in our dam on a catch and release basis. We also offer 8,5km small stream fly-fishing for bass, carp, barbel,  large & small scale yellows on the magalies river.
