Hy there Boys and Girls

I would like to start with what i have and then what i whant.
If it is possible

I have the rods and reels keep nets all the stuff to make the traces etc.

I have fished the breede a few times and have caught a couple of good and small carp

I am not a pro of anysorts in carp fishing

Whe have found a new place in the same river system but the place looks better and there is nobody that fishes this area cuz it is on private property whe have a area of say 200m to fish and than the farm land extends another few km up and downstream

Here is a pic of the area that whe are gonna start fishing.

this is the area where whe can fish

i would like to know what should i do to this new area for normal fishing start chumming the area with ground bait.

The only baits i can find around here is these ground/bomb bait.

What baits and hook traces would you guys use to start of with.

Aspecialy the type of hook traces and types of bait.
I have a few hair rigs that i usaly use in the breede but i would like to learn more

This place is in the Breede river and would like to hear from the pro's to gice me any advice please.

maybe in 2 weeks i can give a very nice report.

Sorry I am no Pro but here it goes
Ok let’s start in the beginning firstly please forget your keep net at home.
Then I would suggest maybe try and see if you can see where the deepest water is the 2 spots on the right looks good.

A cheaper alternative is to buy chick-chick and boil it in water till it becomes soft you can add in a bit of caramel and sugar just to sweeten it a bit.
Then I would go and feed the spot you choose say +- 2Kg per day on the spot if you can’t drive out every day I would drop 5 – 10 Kg the weekend before and maybe another 5 kg a day or 2 before you go and fish.

Rigs I will say a normal rietvlei trace is always a winner if there is allot of structure and you keep on getting stuck I would say remove the top hook.
Hook baits I will suggest starting plain and sweet either dough mielies or even floaties.
If nothing happens I will start with the ones that always work FX, Almond,...
If the wind is pushing I will try stronger flavours garlic, tcp,...
There are monsters in that river although I have never fished for carp there I have seen photo’s.

If you have a look on the match fishing section I posted a description on white bread pop-ups. I would always fish virgin waters as plain as possible. The fish do not know anything about additives. Worms, plain white and brown bread, plain Koo mielies and plain ground baits.

Thanks for this the keep net whill never come with i always release them safely in the river i allways uses a SKEPNET.

the deepest hole is actualy to the right opposie side of river in that litlle corner.

There is alot of snags in the river like trees and rock ledges etc. whe can get there everyday whe whill be feeding 2-3kg mielies everyday after the rain has stop.

i have a few asortments of floaties and mielies for hook baits and have a few strong and sweet dips

TCP is this a hook/bait dip

i also make deegies to put on the hooks.

The people fish this river quit reguraly but this erea is private so maybe the big boys come and hide here i have caught a big carp higher up it weighed just over 11kg there is a foto somewhere on sealine but that whas just luck and i think 4 years ago.

they whent crazy when i feed them supercast plain and flouresent it whas like they go in a feeding frenzy cuz they got wild on top of the water.

That is 100%
The big thing is making a feeding spot and then using what you use in the feeding spot as bait. So if you are going to pre bait the area with mielies I would suggest you use mielies as bait.

Yip TCP is actually an anti septic you buy at the pharmacy but I think they stopped making it. You get some knock off makes and they are ok.

Yea can remember it like yesterday 6.4 diawa bass rod and a small 2500 diawa regal coffee grinder 3kg line .

Whe actualy gona feed with a big veriaty and hope for the best.
But the majority whill be mielies.

there is still one bottle left of TCP at our local tackle shop maybe i must go and grab it.

I think it has been there for almost 2 years i think whill it still work.

TCP cant get old I know in the Vaal up here I wont even go fishing without my TCP. Just dont use allot a drop or 2 is allot but you will smell it.

Maak jou hooklinks ook bietjie langer.... so 17cm werk lekker in die rivier.... soek die bome uit en sorg dat jy voer naby hulle kry. Die chick chick soos Timjan genoem het, werk baie goed, maak net seker die goed is goed gekook.

n' Goeie wenk is om bietjie swaarder lyn te gebruik om jou te help teen die snags in die water. M2 sinker en jy's gerat vir vet pret....
