Hiya Boep,

I have stayed at Kids Beach a few times at a guesthouse while up in El on business. It's a very nice place!

I like fishing to the left of the parking...walking down past the rocky section down to the beach where the blind river is. Fished mostly for ed's here and have caught Elf, Kob and a nice Steenie.

To the right of the parking I stayed in a guest house about half way down the beach front drag. There is a nice big rock which the loacal guest house owner calls Whale Rock. He has fitted a nice flood light to the front of the house and you can fish in comfort at night. Caught a few Rag pups and Gulley sharks here.

...nothing as good as your catches though.

Have you ever fished the blind river beach and rock sections at Igoda River?

Hey trophy about igoda should I blab ? Why not I don't fish igoda itself I park right on the end and walk the loooooong beach and over a couple sets of rock . U then get a bay with some steep surf on the left where the reefs run out is great for bomber blues the odd cob and piggie with chokka prawn and worm then at the steepest part of the surf at night on the high its great for cobbie its such a short lob we use 8 foot rods u need a spread of baits as their tast differs every night this area is my winter hangout its about a 2 k walk but nearly always worth it I've pulled many blues over 4 kg and a few over 5 some nice cob to 15 kg even baardman when its cold water u can get between 5 and 10 diff species in a day

Geeez Boepens!! Can't believe you got a Kob there let alone one of that size I fish that spot for blues but I've never landed a Kob there. Looks like those Rags are there in the morning. I've spent three evenings there with only a 150cm Female Raggie & a few Spotted gulleys between 144 & 162cm
I went to Kiwane on Saturday, I got Quantity but not much quality other than a 2,5kg & 2kg blue. I also got 2 Marbles of 6-8kg and then the usual Blacktail, undersize kob, sandsharks and of course what would a day be without Barbel & Shysharks??
I fished in a deep hole filled with cool muddy water and didn't get a single pull on the shark rod. Then 12 guys fished Kiwane yesterday without a pull. So Leonards is definately the spot to be at the moment. Now if only we were closed already I know where I'd be every morning!!!!!

Hey fluke ya they there at the moment u just have to get the timing right I know they don't seem to like the high with too much movement I say 3 hours before or after low is prime baits r debateable but tail head and frigate wrap seem to get the quicker and better pulls when it gets high the spotties and smoothies seem to come on the other shark species is more hit and miss but we've pulled greys bronzies and hammer there before . Cobbies at the ledges are normally 1 or 2 up to 10 kg on chokka we should make a throw sometime :::S

Try Blacktail for those Raggy's and spotty's there. Take a whole blacktail trim the top section off of the body, cut the tail off and punch a few holes in the stomach then slide it out.
We must meet up there soon, I've really been slack in going there this year.............SO Much water...SO Little time

Yes blacktail works well I like em live with the tailfin trimmed and a circle in the top lip plenty pulls on that . Those cobbie at the ledges arnt a guaranteed thing they do prefere early morn ill be hitting the spot hard in jan and feb its cob time there . I want to try big live mullet on 120 pound steel and 8.0 circle will get some big flatties in jan on chocka slides :fswim

Are you fishing fo Kob between the ledges and "the Barrier" of are you fishing off the high ledge and throwing past the barrier on the right. If on the right then I can understand the Kob as it is very sanded up at the moment. Get you cast wrong or get a big fish and you will lose a lot of line and tackle though.

We're closing from 24 Dec to 31 Dec so I will try get there Friday morning and probably Tuesday morning. Weather looks good haven't checked the tides though.

By Tuesday I should have that new Fin-Nor20 I've asked Father Christmas for^^.. so I will have to test it:::S

I have to set a day aside for Wriggleswade though, I've arranged to spend a day on the dam with Chris while I'm on leave::S
