looks Cool, i stripped my Saltist 40 and removed all the paint took it to a guy in PINETOWN, DURBAN and he sprayed it with the same material that they paint firarms with, looks like the new Saltist series now

R125,

the paint does not peel, chip and protects against rust and very good for salt water, gives you a beautiful finish as well

this work all looks amazing, I tried to PM reefman about getting new bearings and washers to upgrade my saltist 50, but his pm system has been disabled.... does anyone know who else I can get in touch with? keen to upgrade and make my reel even more bulletproof
And if anyone knows who I can take my reel to to have it coated like that in pretoria/jhb that would be cool as well........

you can get carbon washer at the kingfisher at R240 and bearings at R30 each, they charge R50 to fit them on for you as well.

if you want to re-coat your reel, firstly strip it down, take out all the washers, bearings, gear, springs and screws, you will need to re-coat 3 parts of your reel, the 2 side covers and your chassis, now you need to prepare your parts, DO NOT USE SAND PAPER, use paint remover, it just peels off, wipe your parts with thinners or benzene, all you need to do now is take it to a firearm repair center and have them spray it for you. Hello Chasps ..

I'm Wanting to improve the noisy bearings in the saltist 40 Of mine , my Little casting Machine .
as john holden insists there's no reason to use dual blocks for brakes , i want to improve the little Monster's spinning ability .

Abec bearings - if i were to go down to a place in george , Bearing man , for instance , could i then ask for something Other then SKF for Example , or are these bearings only available from a selected few bru's on the Site ?

Before anyone asks its not sand .I've Noticed The Same thing happening to my Saltiga , so an upgrade on all fronts will be welcome .
Can anyone point a finger in the regte rigting asb. ?

Many thanks .
Oh - if anyone has other advice to offer , will be Most welcome .

Replace the 2 spool bearings, only standard SSteel bearings from Bearing man etc and they are not cheap. Best quality bearing would be the equivalent sizes from shimano but will be around R120- 180 per bearing otherwise order online from Abec

Same spool bearings in both Saltist and Saltiga
