Have anyone some experience with a Shimano Exage BX Surf 1446 rod?? I'm looking at buying a new rod so if anyone have a suggestion on a good 3/5 piece relatively good priced rod please comment. And also a good line to put onto a TLD star 20/40...

Your choice of rod is good. As for the line, that will depend on what you want to target, the terrain you'll be fishing and how much you want to spend. Also depends on yhe diameter of line you want to spool on the 20/40. A safe diameter would be .42, think its 12.5 kg. Or if you wish .45.

I'll be fishing off rocks and in surf, for edibles and the occasional shark. I was also thinking of .45 but don't know whats the better brand to go for.

for the odd shark rather go with the 1468 as 1446 is more a edibles rod.

I only use Double X (Hi-Vis), it is expensive but worth every cent.

And I have used the lot....

Us swamp donkeys in Richards Bay and Empangeni dont get alpha seagrand unfortunately..... Havent seen any in the shops in Richards Bay and Empangeni

yes, I know... Looked at Double X Platinum 25 pound .39mm to for the reel I dont have yet, pitty it doesnt come in yellow.

Mono these days come in supreme quality..the choice is vast. .
