You were right about one thing, I could upgrade my "old" Lowrance US edition HDS 10 to firmware 3.5 and no geofencing occured :)

I Digress - Unit still has geofence when upgrading from version 2.5 to 3.5 and i imagine the same from 2.5 to 3.0 so Fishton you are correct. Unit still works fine in metric on version 2.5 - been fishing in metric too long and my spool cannot fit 3.28 times more line on it!

i just seen your previous problem with HDS usa version,i have same problem with HDS-7 usa version 3.5  so i want to change all measurement in meters and celsiouss but when unit start to take signal,change restart alone.
Can you help me please?to let me know the procedure

The same solution Download the 2.5 firmware downgrade and reset your unit setings to factory defaults because of a font size problem.
