How to tie a leader.

Can someone please help me.I am using  30 pound kingfisher mono line,i want to attach a leader for casting heavy baits <live> what type of leader should i look at and where will i find a digram showing how to tie the leader on.I am using a kingfisher graphite composite rod of 12 foot.
