how to fish for vlei and blue kurper

hey guys,

i do mainly carp fishing and as you probably know that that takes a lot of patience, something that doesnt come easily to me so i want to entertain myself with some kurper the problem is i have no clue how to fish for kurper i mean no clue on what baits or traces to use etc can someone please help with some info on the baits and traces to use

we use similar type floats, with small eyes on the "ball" and on the bottom, first on the line is a "gummy stop" small rubber ball transferred to your line, then the float, then you knot a small hook at the end of the line, use small pinch sinkers on the line about 5cm from the hook, this is for the float to stand upright, use just enough for the float to "float", this rig can be casted quite far.

It depends on what depth the fish are feeding and how deep the water is, that is why you use a gummy stop, start at say 30cm and see if they bite. If the float is on its side the hook and bait is laying on the bottom. Adjust the length by moving the gummy stop up and down.
