Hi Guys.... Hope ya'll doing good..
Well i'm new to this forum and also new to fresh water fishing.
I've always been a lover of fishing and trying out new spots and ways of fishing, however the only fishing i've done from the age of 5 has been surf fishing. so that's all fine.
But i've moved up to Johannesburg 3 years ago and recently decided its time to get back at my hobby and give fresh water fishing a try.
:fishn
But i hate to admit it, i am useless when it comes to fresh water as i have never done it.
i made a trip to 3 rivers last week with a friend
, and we messed around for a few hours just trying to get a feel of this.
but 1 thing i cannot get used to is fishing with a slack line as compared to the much stiffer line that we would have when doing surf fishing.
how do we actually feel a proper bite and "hit" once we actually get a bite.
can you guys, who will definitely know more than me when it comes to this, please advise me on some nice spots that i could go to, which are also not far from Midrand but also SAFE.
i would also appreciate any tips i could get for traces that can be used and also baits.
also do mielie bombs actually work? coz i did feel the fish nibbling on something, but how do you know if the fish is actually biting on the milie bomb or the bait.
any info will be GREATLY appreciated!!!
please feel free to mail me on sashlyn.naid007@gmail.com.
thanks guys... and happy fishing!
