Hiya Chaps,

I am going to be in EL on Thu night and was thinking of wetting a line.

Seeing that you chaps have had such a run of late I thought I would swop the light stuff and my fav Nahoon spot for the heavy tackle and Gonubie.

If there are any EL chaps wanting to show me the ropes it would be great to have some company!

@Trophy I would like to come and join you, will see what the parents say but I'm going to Palms on Saturday morning so they may say no. The easterly is gonna be blowing and this should mean that the crabs are gonna be around, so bring with some durable baits as well as some friggates and tail. with the swell expected to be around 2.7m the fish should be feeding close in. I might just come and join you guys and have a chat for a while if I cant fish.

Huhvvbafvvvvbafvv The crabs don't give a damn!!!! They're there all the time

Now with a bit of luck the east wind should mean some Raggies might put in a long overdue appearance. If you're willing to brave the east wind that is:fbash

Hey Trophy, you will be fishing Gonubie in the worst possible wind, so your comfort may have to be sacraficed, however the colder water will surely bring in the bags....Ill pop around on Thurs.......maybe give Julian from EL a shout......here's a pic of a pic of a buss i managed there last year.....

Great stuff guys!

I'll prob get there late afternoon, depending on graft!

I'll bring two shark sticks with a 30 and 50 reel. Have there been any Shad around for bait? Might have to bring a light stick and some pilchard. What are the Black Tail and Karenteen populations like at the slipway?

Don't want to bring up to many big baits if I can help it?

you might have to settle for a couple of live karanteen.....shad are scarce....whole squid will do the trick

I doubt we'll get any shad and the Karanteen and Blacktail are on the small side there. Crabs are a bit of a Problem so Big Mullet are a good option or else Yellowtail.

I have quite a few shad and mullet plus lots of decent size Cape Stumpnose so I could help with some bait but I won't make it there until 6:30 at best.
