Hi Y'all,

 

I'm making a trip up to Betty's bay in the near future.  I want to target edibles especially kob.  The problem I have is that I hear all these names of the bays/spots flying around however I have no idea how to get there.

 

I would appreciate it if anyone can assist with directions for the below from the BP garage (with road names please) and also what would I expect to catch at these spots:

 

Jocks bay

Steenbras gat

Dawids kraal

Tom se klip

draadbaai

die slotte

 

Also, any other spots to target nice sized kob and shad/elf?

I would really, REALLY appreciate the help.  I'm looking forward to this as I haven't been out since Nov last year and need to get something on soon.

Well guys, I'm off to Bettys/Hangklip area tonight.
Will fish tomorrow.

Hey, I dont know the current conditions at betties but for kob you can try at Silwerstrand, there is normaly a big sand gully in the middel of the beach, just look for where the waves arent breaking. Try some choka & pilchard combo's and use lots of flotation. Bloodworm is always a good allround bait for kob & steenies.I've caught a kob there in crystal clear water but try realy early morning & late evening. There is a recent post somewhere on Dawidskraal with directions to the spot so do a forum search and you will find it. Tom se klip is a very dependent on the sandbanks and is most probably not open at the moment.

I am heading off to Bettys bay area once again.
Any help on what is being caught recently will greatly assist?

Been out the country for a while now and keen to get my line wet and even more keen to hear my reel scream...!

hi i fish that parts i like to go to dawidskraal i got a big kob of 10kg  i hope you get a big 1 too.:wfish
