We camped at Sodwana Hengel grounds We arrived Tuesday at about 11 o clock, pitched camp and the went for a swim plus side of staying there swimming pool

After registration we got the boat ready and went down to the dam to plan our attack for the next day. We had never fished the dam and did not have a clue as to where to start fishing I did get some info from Savanna and IWyk

We planned to fish the river where it enters the main dam on the south shore to start the day off. We got some live bait , sardes chicken livers and we were set.

Thursday we launched at about 7 took a while to find the bakkie keys. We headed to our spot we planned anchored. Our plan was to all fish different baits for the start to see what was working

One hour in and bang went the rod with the live bait. We lost the fish as the sensation pre made trace came loose and all that was left was the power swivel. We all sure it would have been the winning fish ;)

We all changed to live bait had a few runs but failed to set any of the hooks  :X

Later it got quiet very quiet so we decided to try trawling we went up the river and it was just a quiet The rest of the day we moved around in the river section trying our luck but nothing was happening

Day 2

Launched early “ Put the bakkie keys in a safe place” Decided to head for the main dam the wind was horrible kept blowing us off the anchor so we moved to the safety of the river and tied up on the trees on the North bank with a lot of other boats

Two small tiger and nothing else.

Day 3

We fished the river had a few good runs but failed to set the hook again.

We have now a bit of information for next year and it has to get better

The comp was enjoyable well organised The Sodwana Bay Henger camp was not bad there was however one chap who thought we enjoyed his music. The ablutions were kept clean as there was a cleaner stationed at the door and he kept the place tidy and clean.

We will defiantly be back next year

I will post some pics
