Hi again.. Would just like to say that your profile photo 'Tiger Fish' is awsome.. Well done.

How long did you take to get it in? I assume it was your fav fishing spot ??

Hey Glenn

The Tiger was 16lbs and was caught on fly tackle just above the Kasai channel.

It was an absolute beast of a fish with big, thick shoulders and took around 20 minutes to land. It took 4 very hard runs into my backing, breaking the surface around 90 meters from the boat no less than 5 times often when my line was pointing at a completely different angle into the water because of the speed of the fish and drag of the flyline. The fishes runs were so furious that several times the line burnt straight through my stripping guard and into the flesh of my finger LOL.

Was a great experience, if not my best to date ;)

and yes, by far my favourite spot!

Yeah we met last weekend, JJ gave me some great inisight on flyfishing for sharks, unfortunately weather was not permitting so we cancelled the trip and as irony would have it the weather cleared beautifully. We fooled around Durban Harbour but struggled to get a line in between the 40 million already there. Very sad to see that area so over fished. A mate of ours landed a 3kg Pickhandle barracuda on spoon though which was great, and he released it unharmed.

@ JJ you going to hook a brother up bud? we must replan a trip and nail some hammers etc on fly.

Will post a carp thread up some stage soon. We flyfish for them and have caught them up to 17kg and even landed a 14kg one on 3 weight fly gear.
