No hassle, here is my 2c worth on the topic.
If you use too thick line on the grapnel and the sinker bites vas, when a fish picks you up he should lift the sinker cause it is the light side of the rig (you and rod on other side) if the slide cannot quickly slide to your leader and hook onto the stopper because the grapnel is to vas you may end up with your main line getting burned off, especially ifn the slider is still on the mainline when you strike, like Brand said rather straight stick the rod and wait for the slider to move onto your leader as soon as all the slack line in the water has gone through the slider it is onto the leader and there you should not have a burn off, therefore rather use thinner line on the sinker so if it cannot be lifted by the fish he should brake the sinker line and lift the line with stopper ring intact, so you end up with one fish on trace, slider on mainline heading for the leader and a successfull hookup if no-one cuts your line in the fight. It is like so many okes have said better to lose a sinker and land a fish than to try and get all the tackle back every time and lose that beeeeg one!!!! I agree with losing a inker no problem.
