Hi people

I'm trying to find out what the fishing in Potch is like? Specifically the angling in the Potch and Boskop dams? I'm a avid bass and specimen carp fisherman and I am looking for good angling close to Potch where I will be from next year on. If the angling in the two above mentioned dams aren't to great, what are my alternatives?

Potch, according to me is a waste of time for Bass, except if you want to keep yourself busy with small fish. Carp can be caught with a lot of feed and effort, especially during night time. There is also Klipdrift close by. Get more info from the tackle shops in Potch when you are there.

Boskop is always worth a visit for Bass and Carp, especially this time of year. I recommend a floating device to move around in Boskop.

Thanks allot, the advice is much needed and appreciated! I will definitely give Boskop a try. Don't think I will be spending to much time at Potch dam anyway, was there a while back, looked around and things didn't look to promising. Was hoping there might be some unknown secrets. But if Boskop is worth while to hunt some PB's then I am quite happy! Thanks again!

Leave the dams! Target the river! There are some wonderful spots all around potch... River carp box!!! Much harder fight than dam carp! And that farm dam you want to target where you are looks awesome! Wouldn't mind a nice farm dam session! Lol

Thanks allot, going to miss my "Bietjiewater" next year! That is why I'm on the search for a few good alternatives... It's just something that sticks, having something on the end of a line, it just does something to me! Will always find a place that I will be able to do what I have such a passion for! Maybe I will get a roommate with a fishtank, if you know what I mean

I love the vaal river around potch! 90% of my fishing there and I stay in joburg! It's challenging but soooo rewarding!

Potch dam has big carp, beautiful mirrors and hudge Grassies! Not a easy place to fish but worth it! Barbel can be a pest tho!

Potch Dam has got some great carp. Landing them is just a bit difficult with all the grass in the water, but if you have an inflatable boat that won't be a problem.

The place I had great success at was Limirique Holiday Resort. Just over the bridge on the left.
Part of the Vaal river.
The fish fight as if its their last and very good sizes also.
I caught my PB there on normal conventional.

How is the facilities by Limirique?
