Browsing through my old stuff... I forgot, I was chosen for the SWA Cricket team... played with Gary Teichmann and our manager was Brian Jerling!!

And Capt Leon Eggers is now Brig Gen Leon Eggers and spends as much time as he can, when he can, fishing in Namibia.

If you were in Sector 20 at that time were you not in the same Unit as Dean Pelser? (or can't you remember that far back?)

SA Schools underwater hockey and represented SA Varsities in a match against the English team 1980

WP Paddleskiing (Jnr's) WP Swimming (Short course) Waterpolo to Varsity 1st team with Maties

Service Shooting (Diensskiet) competed against the UK side on 2 occasions

Favourite sport was Rugby but was never really any good but I will never forget my U16A season when we beat Bishops, SACS, PAul Roos and Rondebosch and our School Fish Hoek was supposed to be a hockey school, most memorable year of sport ever was also the first time I caught a Bronzie - 48kg, on a handline, off a ski-boat in the middle of Fish Hoek bay.  Still got 2 scars on my hands from that pull (just had to put something fishy into it).

I'm sorry Enigma but as an old Rondebosch boy, I simply cannot believe that a school like Fish hoek could ever have beaten RBHS. Really bru, but thats like something out of Alice in Wonderland....

::teas::::rofl::lol:1

Made the corner stone throwing team pre 91. If a cop stuck his head out of a casper i didn't miss. I think i also made the wall jump team too. All hell broke loose wen they stopped and got out. Then i was faster than any olympic sprinter. Playe league darts for Boland but was to drunk to win anything. Knocked out the SA light weight boxing Champ by accident. Wont mention his name to save him some face. How was i to know that when u spare u must not get angry and hit with all u got. Was my best over hand right eva.

Played Soccer, Cricket and Chess in Junior league.

My highlight was cricket and in the first year we were awarded a trophy for the best losers of the season. Believe me nothing can motivate you more than such a trophy.

We kicked off the next season against the "gun" team and I took a hat trick in the first over. (medium /fast right arm) This was the best feeling ever!! We went on to win the next season.

Unfortunately, St Peter tapped me on the shoulder and I followed in his fishing footsteps.

Played Zululand Rugby and Cricket (80's)

Due to injury I had to stop all active (running etc) sports for 5 years and took up bisley shooting. Managed to obtain Zululand and Natal colours. Made SA junior presidents team.

Played league squash and golf at university as well as provincial Korfball.
