Hi

I am new to the forum and was wondering if anyone knew of any good places to go Freshwater fishing in PE or in th area?

I have spent my life fishing of the surf, rocks and sea boats and want to try something different.

Somebody suggested Lakefarm and even North End lake (although I dont know how safe the water is there).  I don't want to keep the fish and will throw them back, I just want to catch them.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

North end lake is loaded with fish. I been there once (not really into freshwater) and caught about 15 fish in a few hours. Mainly smallish carp and bream. You will get a lot of young kids from the surrounding low income area asking for your fish.

Everyone moans saying the water is bad because of the factories in the area but wouldnt the fish die then?
Wouldnt the water smell bad then?
Wouldnt the authorites have done something if the water was toxic?
I mean people go sking in that lake? They even have a ski boat club there.
I think the water is fine.

One thing I would watch out for is, make sure you dont go there alone or at least make sure there are other guys fishing near you and dont stay too late. A mate of mine was fishing there a few years ago and as he was packing up he had all his stuff (including his car) taken from him by some low life thugs with a gun. This was near dusk though. I think it is fine during daylight though when there are people about. My office has a view of the lake and see plenty people fishing there making good catches. It sucks to look out the window at work and see people fishing.

Thanks Fleming

I am planning to go the this weekend on Sunday or Monday during the day.  I've never really done much freshwater fishing and thought it would be fun to try and have heard about good catches at NE lake.

I'll make sure I'm near the other people and will check the scene out before settling down at a spot.

My boss does paddling in the lake and says there are some strange noises coming from the the water at times, from fish stirring up the water.

Should be fun.
