H guys, I must concur, crabs (especially baby crabs, preferably whole) work very well..as do the shrimp, worms, crickets, in fact, most natural baits. A small brown bread bait works wonders too, with a little "Borrie" and of course mielie pitte (whole kernel corn). Now, in winter, a soft, sweet, white pap is very good bait.
I also agree on the running trace, but I like it as light as possible, even just one or two split shot with a small single hook. If conditions allow, I go weightless.
Light tackle, guys...4 lb line, small centre-pin reel, light 7 foot rod..it is awesome sport to catch a Yellow with light tackle!!
Going to below the Vaal Dam wall soon, will report back..:fishn:fishn:fishn
