Hi Guys. Was out at The Gunnery, Strandfontein

Hi Guys.

Was out at The Gunnery, Strandfontein yesterday.  Fished just to the right of the NSRI station.  In the two hours that we were there we landed 7 fish.  6  Galjoen ranging from 40 - 45cm and a Blacktail of 40 cm. 

The fish totally ignored the live bloodworm and hit the prawn hard.  A combo of moonshine and prawn also produced some takes but very slow.

The fish seemed to go off the bite on the pushing tide.

A Blacktail of 40cm!!!!!!!! Thats just 4cm short of the record set 23 years ago! Wow, what a catch... congrats man,  any pics of it?

Hi. 

Correction on the Blacktail.  It was 38cm.  I checked the record as well, damn, 6cm short.   It was a rather large specimen.  Gave a good fight.

Fished at nelson's in front of toilet on sunday night got 2 steenbras  6kg and a 3kg and a small cob and some dassie.This was about at 10pm and the wind switched to a NW from a south easter.Looks good for tonight again a see its a slight south easter again and a NW predicted for tommorrow,the fish want to eat before the cold front sets in....lol

I fished Gunnery yesterday @ 17:30 to 18:45 got 2 blacktail nice size will post pics later, it felt like the fish came on the bite but i have to pack up. I had a feeling that the fish would bite last night so if anyone fished Gunnery last night let us know if anything came out
