Hi guys

So I basically sold my entire kit to buy a new one. I was wondering if you guys can help me with ideas for the following ranges;

20-70m range(9-11ft rods) - casting m00/spring up and till m1,5. I need a lot of fishability here as the distance between me and the fish wont be that long, the line wont be able to take up all the punishment it does on 100m+ battles.

70-130m range(12-13ft rods) - casting m0 up and till m3/p3 with bol. Rod must have a good feel to it. Must be right on that fine line between handling a fish perfect but also be able to cast a bol to 130m.

130m+ range(13-15ft rods) - casting m1,5 up and till p7 with bol. I dont really care for fishability here as this will be the moering tool that needs to be able to cast heavy weights into heavy winds a long way.

Buying new equipment is one of the most amazing things to do, but finding out you bought shit and wasted your money is the worst feeling any angler can get. So please help me avoid this.

Hoping to receive feedback soon.

I am very cautious to comment on your request here due to the way you last dealt with my information and suggestions.

Your style and another anglers style is not necessarily the same and hence a difference of personal opinion and one will also have to further consider ones budget.

Thanks Enigma. Sorry for the previous time it took time and some testing to see what you meant back then is true. Different strokes for different blokes ey?

The Finesse 10'6 is mentioned twice must be a great rod?

Then the Oval DC 12'6 is also mentioned multiple times. Its the only rod of the DC-range (12 ft Rocket, 13 ft Rocket, DC130, DC180 & DC LITE 13ft's) i havent tried. Are they still available to find on the market?

The Tribal 13 3.75 TX9 is also mentioned twice? What is the TX9? Is it the one with the Fuji Lowriders? If it is the same rod which i am referring to. It is a bit heavier than the DC Lite, but that is not what bothers me, the rod has a specimen look to it with the lack of cork/EVA grips.

The G2 T53 12' RV Titanium Torzite. I suppose the Titanium Torzite is referring to the type of guides? But what is the "RV" referring to?

I love the DC's and I still import the blanks under the Turbulence range and we still sell the rods built for carp or for Saltwater (Lure and Light bait fishing) Casts from a spring to a 4oz weight.

I've been fishing with the Finesse before they even got on to the RSA market as I designed them

The new Tribals are built for RSA Bank angling with complete input from Lowtjie and Johan Louwies and they are only available in RSA and nowhere else in the world.

The TX9 is one of 5 new Tribal ranges being launched in the next 2-3 months in RSA.

Like you said different strokes for different folks. Anglers who in my opinion complain about a 100gr rod weight difference mus maar live with their choice when they break their rods through impact or trying to power cast large weights.

Even if you catch 30 fish for the day your rod is in the rod stand more than it is in your hands. If that 1 hour with a rods 100gr heavier in your hand tires you out go to the Gym or stop trying to be competitive in Angling.

I like my Ovals as do many of the other owners thereof for the fact that you can cast from a spring and a bol to a 112gr weight with small bol and not worry. The tip has a spring to it that is not as hard as the DC and DC Lite so it absorbs the shock of head shakes.

Hmmm i have BM 12 ft 3-4 oz T53's i would lile to custom but that will then probably cost me in the region of R1 000. New ovals will probably go for R2 000 a rod correct? Hmmm so its a tad more. But how will the 3-4 oz T53 compare to the ovals?

Do you have the 2 piece 12' 3-4oz. Stiff as a pole and quite a thick rod. with a 35cm butting needed?

Depending on the guides and components used. The DC Turbulence with LCOG Fuji Low riders and Webo reel seat under R2000. With Webo SiC low Riders and Webo reel seat and EVA grips then R1700

Yes 2 piece but not that thick? A little bit thicker than older DC's. It has two tips a 1,5 oz tip and the 3 oz tip. It has the horrible larger diameter guides. Lots of eye wraps on the second guide from the bottom. Would you suggest i use the 1,5 oz tip? I have never used it before? Is it possible to test the DC Turbulence?

Enigma, which rod will be a better choice. Obviously generally speaking, the Shimano Tribal LC 13ft 3.75 or the Sensation Xtreme Caster 14ft? I'm more interested in the 130m+ than any other rod.

200m is possible with the LC in 12' 3.75 but it's a beast and actual test curve measures at 9.6lbs

Xtreme caster will still outcast them. Longest cast I witnessed with and Xtreme Caster was Philip van Wyk (CG Rock and Surf Angler) who cast a 4oz 232m in testing with the rod

Watched Mark Cameron cast a consitant 137m with a M0 and LArge feed Bol with the 12' LC 3.5lbs but I don't get over 125m

So signs of weak structural integrity is not eminent at the moment. With the news of multiple DC Lites broken over the past two years it was a worrying aspect to take in consideration when purchasing new rods. Which rod has the lower test curve? LC 13ft 3.75 or Xtreme Caster 14ft?

The total breakages on the DC 12' is under 2%. One must consider that over 3000 of the rods have been sold so those few breaks are relative. So yes you hear of the breakages and one is concerned, my son uses his Lites non stop and pushes the limits of the rods and at 16 is fishing 145m with a M1.5 and gets 160-165 on a P7.

The 13' was higher but still under 4% and what was interesting was that 72% of the breakages were attributed to 5 customers. Something in their style of casting and the DC Lite were not compatible.

The DC Lite is in no way a compromised rod and there is no rod that throws a lite weight as far as a lite does.

I would recommend that a lite be used to a max of M1.5 with a bol (total weight under 90gr) and if you want to chuck big leads a long way to go to the Xtreme or even the DC180

Hi. Do you know when the Shimano TX-9 rods will be released in South Africa. I see they sell for around £200 in the UK. They look like great value for money
