What happened to everyone that were so keen on making the Tiger Fish Bonanza sound like a fish killing machine? Are they not happy?

I am extatically happy about this news, you will need to allow some time for people to see your announcement.

It's got my vote, but how do you keep them alive, I still think a measuring board like they do in Namibia is the answer.

Catch, weigh, photo and release is the only the way to go, I will not fish the Jozini Tiger Classic until they bring in a much much more control, regarding catch and release.

It has been reported that of the 20 fish weighed in this year only 5 died, hmmmm, the shock the fish suffers, because it swims away doesn't mean it will survive. I have seen plenty of belly up tigers floating in the dam.

What about the rest of the unweighed fish? Anyone with a decent fish must think he has a chance, so how many of them survive?

I think the whole structure of this competition needs to be revised. There is a system for offshore game fishing where a marlin is caught and released with a photo of the fish and a coloured tag evident, maybe this competition should operate on the same basis, unfotunately some of the 'dinosaurs' who enter this compo, will not accept a commitee decision easily.

Rules can be made and enforced to run the compo this way. A committee would then award points, provided the fish was photographed on a standard measuring board and a winner declared.

Hi,

The rules will be made available next week for the catch and release comp. I will post a copy on the web.

The competition is in September

They have not completed it yet. There will be weigh stations around the dam at strategic places. All tiger fish must be weight at the closest station and released to swim away.

Hallo All,

The competition will be 22-24 September

The rule that every one has been waiting for:

All tiger fish will be released. All fish must be weight at the release stations around the dam.

This will make the event the biggest Release tiger fish comp in Africa with about 1200 anglers.

The main prize is an Yamaha sea cat 4.65 with 2 yamaha motors.
