Hi guys. New to sealine, I try to avoid commenting on anything. will leave that to the pros:)

Just wanting to know if anyone has ever fished at stywe lyne holiday resort as I have been booked in there for a weekend away by friends and thought that I might as well get some fishing in, as is must be quite a good spot hence the name. I hope lol

Trying to find out what baits are used as well as what species can be caught and if any, some secret locations tips etc...

Thank you in advance for you advise

Hi if you're talking about Stywe Lyne in Velddrif then it is the wrong season to fish there cause of all the muddy water from the Berg River. You can however try for barbel and flat fish for fun.Soverby - if water is not too muddy- and nearer to Dwarskersbos and beyond you can try for galjoen, but the illegal netting destroyed the stock. This area is better from October onwards- spring and summer and a bit of Autumn before winter rains arrive.Hope it helps

stywe lyne veldrif would be correct. Apparently situated right near a beach? Is that correct. No fish found in those waters??

Stayed there many seasons when i was still snoek fishing, lekker camp site but think the name is false advertising for the rock and surf side of things. I know guys catch a couple of nice kob off the beach every season but think they are few and far between

Fished there in april.. caught thornback rays sand sharks elephant fish(st joseph its also called) barbel pyjama sharks..i fished off the river mouth wall and all along the beach til past the resort for a week straight and even took a drive to dwarskersbos beach coz a rumour of big kob coming out (got pics to prove) but unfortunately nothing for the coals gent

Favourite bait used was pilchards, i had worm prawn tjokka mussel and redbait and still no luck

The fish there are fussy i suppose . I even caught a pyjama shark on dropshot using a 4' black and white minnow
