what casting tecnique are you using. when i practice on a field i easily get 200m but when at the beach or on the rocks i barely get to 120-150m max.

First of all casting at higher altitude helps a lot so you have to remember that if you practice inland.
Secondly your footing and / or the Arc of your sinker is just about always compromised so the cast will never match casting from flat, firm ground with no obstructions.
@Armand, brilliant casting and really pushing that rod to the max. Pity it flexes so much low down, that's probably costing you a couple metres.
I was also amazed to see that the rod flex so much at the bottom , I have also cast a few times with my Assassin Heavy but I did not take pics!I must say that I feel more comfortable with the shimano than the assassin , but bouth these rods have a lot of backbone , I do think the assassin more than the shimano. The assassin just feels to stif for me!

I have an Assasin Toray Heavy and it is definitely stiffer than the Technium and more difficult to load but I believe it will out-cast a technium. I must admit I've only cast someone else's Technium with 6 & 7oz sinkers so maybe I'd feel different if I'd spent time with a Technium and heavier weights.

@ Raggie Boy, I have the same cast as you, very simple but effective and I get my sinker to land where I want it to which is backline.

I find my Medium/Heavy set up which is a Pentagon Medium with a heavy tip paired with the Trini TN30 out throws my heavy tackle set up.

Which is a Poseidon "Staffie" paired with the Saltiga 50.

So I use my Pentagon(13.7ft) for surf fishing and Poseidon (13.6ft) for rocky points fishing.

The pendulum swing cast action looks great and seems to travel a greater distance BUT in doesn't. I actually throw further than my best mate.

But at the end of the day it's all about the love of fishing for each individual and how you have mastered your talent.

Interesting to find a superior cast to the pendulum. I have seen groundcasts that went further than a pendulum cast after many modification to the extent it no longer look like a textbook cast. How does the overhead hatteras cast outcast the pendulum? The SA distance casting draws alot of power and leverage from a groundcast way back in 70-80s when casting is done on a platform. I maybe wrong to conclude but it seems the deadswing and pendulum is favored these days as a method to cast further? http://m.youtube.com/channel/UCZ4isQPj7wUaCNS20ega1Yw
