hi guys,

i bought a g2vision card for my 420s and was told that i'm allowed one update.

i dont know how to update. tried garmins website and downloaded something onto my computer.put my sd card in computer and then i dont know what to do.

anyone know anything about this?

please let me know.^^..

MH, there are 2 kinds of update. One is updating the maps and the other is updating the unit software. I haven't seen any updates for the G2 maps for SA in the last year. I don't know if anybody else has.

For the unit there is fairly regular updates and they make a big difference. You download the upgrade from Garmins website. Cop y it on to your SD card, put the SD card into the unit and switch it on. It should find the new software and upgrade the unit. If not just switch off and on again. I have found that I have to switch on and off twice before it installs the software.

As I said, I haven't seen the updates for the maps or don't know where to get them. I think our guys are last on the list of updates. i would have thought that we should regularly get all the notices to mariners etc.

do you have to use a blank sd card to download from your computer or do you use the original g2 vision sd card?::tight:and also how do  you format the blank sd card?:thankie

Oh, by the way, I confirmed with GMS that there has not been a upgradwe to the G@ South African charts for the last 1 1/2 years.
