Hi guys, I'm going to Rietvlei Dam for a weekend at the end of January. I have been to the dam before and unfortunately I blanked.

I was hoping that some of you could give me some advice as to what baits and rigs as well as where to fish and how much to bait. We are staying in a chalet.

We will be staying in chalet 2.

When we phoned to book we were told that a 38KG carp was caught there 3 days ago. Don't know if they were just saying this or if it really happened.::tight:

You got some nice waters in front of you at number two. Eeck. 38 pound maybe. There are big fish in them waters but are not always easy to catch . The old river bed runs not too far from the bank where you will be fishing . Do some feature finding and find the distance of it ( dependent on the water level ) I have had some good fishing trips on particals . Like I said before not easy always to get those fish on the bite . Try a critically balanced tiger on the hair ( pop it with foam or cork it and screw it onto a chod . I will be fishing there from the 28th dec till the 4 th Jan. Chalets 1 and 2. Pm me your cell number then I can whatapp you pics and rigs during my session

Hi guys, session at Rietvlei went extremely well. We ended up landing a total of 8 Carp, I caught 7 and a friend of mine caught the other one. The smallest was a 6.45KG Mirror Carp and the biggest was a 10.50KG Common Carp. We also got two double ups throughout the weekend. PM me with any questions about the venue.

90% of them were caught on Artificial Maize Combo and A Has Been Tiger Nut balanced with 2 artificial maize.
