Hi guys

Im finding it hard to choose between the Aeris F10 Freedive watch and the Suunto D4 Dive watch for spearfishing use mainly. Im fairly familiar with the D4 and knows that it works well but don't know about the F10 for spearfishing.
Ok the D4 is more for diving and the F10 more for freediving which is great but how about the practical use for spearing?

Any comment or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Hiya kaalvoetklonkie,

I recently bought a D4i specifically for spearfishing and I'm very impressed with the freediving features. Can't really think of any feature that I would use that it does not have available.

Although the installation of the PC software was a bit tedious, once it's all setup it works really well.

While shopping I also looked at the Mares Nemo Apneist which, in terms of features, compares very well with the Suunto and is in my opinion a better looking watch. I have however read that the PC interface is expensive and also a bit buggy.

I've never tried the Aeris so can't comment on that besides that I think a newer version, the F11, is either due for imminent release or already available.

Have a look here for a comparison on the computers mentioned: http://www.apnea.cz/computers.html?computerID=46,6,18,42,4

I've got a F10. Very happy with it. Only problem is unless you've used both it's hard to say which one is better.

Hi Guys

Sorry for changing the subject, but I just need to ask a quick question. I have just fitted a 16mm rubber with a length of 70cm to my 1.2m rabitech, it has a 7mm spear. Do you think it will have enough power to shoot garrick and cuta,or do I have to add another 16mm rubber to the gun?

70 cm is the right length for a 1.2m gun but I would definitely say add another rubber.

One 16mm will not be enough especially for fast moving fish such as Garrick and Cuta.
