Hi Guys,

Iam keen to go down after work today and try catch myself a shad, i stay pretty close to Blue Lagoon, is it worth a throw , are the shad around ?

I tried Blue Lagoon on Saturday evening, only caught rocks. Got a few shad at snake park pier. Used sardine fillets with a glow stick pushed a bit into the red cork. Seemed to do the trick.

thanks Veez, might have to give it a try off the pier then, hopefully there are stil la few around , how were the sizes ?

They were decent sizes, I got 2 x 40cm and 1 x 45cm. My buddy got 3 about 40cm. Plenty of undersize came out which we threw back to the disgust of the regulars on the pier.

They biting like hell on Strandfontein last night ! 2Kg and up ..

i think most guys are only interested if the shad are biting when the garrick are around cos they wana use it for live bait.but if you go get those shad save a couple small sized 1s for sard season.hook those big raqggies

Hey Riyad,

Do you know if the elf are still around Strandfontein? And any reports of other fish in the area? I'm off tomorrow, so i wanna throw some lead to the sea.
