Hi Guys,

I will be visiting Vosrite Fishing Adventures hopefully in the week of the 12th of July

Can you suggest some baits, dips etc for this time of year. I will be doing papgooi but will also have a specimen rod out. Which boilies, tigers, etc work for specimen? Please share any tips as well

Will be at the Timbervatie camp.

Micks, FX and Gumtree dips work great in winter. I had a trip to the vaal 2 weeks ago and got descent carp on Gumtree mielies.

For specimen, put out a plain tiger nut (soaked in tiger nut oil) and one pop-up boilie. This got me a PB of 9.95kg, and another PB for my dad weighing 9.68kg.

Fishing is slow in winter, but when you get stuck into something, it will be worth it.

Oh and by the way......never forget the molasses. It works like a bomb.

Stupid question, what do I do with the molasses. Never used it before..

With definately try gumtree and fx and do a report back

Dip your floaties in the molasses and put some on your mieliebom/feedball.

Plain Koo sweetcorn or plain peanuts on a hair rig are also deadly in the Vaal in winter.Just make sure the peanuts are prepared correctly (soak 24 hrs,cook for 30 mins).Add 2tbsp brown sugar and 1tbsp sea salt at the soaking stage.Molasses is brilliant,any time of the year on the river.

Hi Guys,

Back from our 2 day trip at Vosrite. What a place to be The hospitality experienced was amazing. The camp sites are very neat and the fishing was the beSt part. Between 3 anglers we caught 19 fish. 4 carp, 1 large mouth yellow, 5 muddies,2 barbel and a few grass carp.

Most of the fish were caught on vampire floats with a semolina dough backing and garlic on the bomb. What also workedo well was the mollasses. Triple D and perdeby worked well on the bomb.

Believe it or not the one barbel was caught on boerewors

Overall it was a trip for the books
