Thanks Christo! Appreciate!

Currently it will be in March or April. We will be 4-5 guys, and one 4x4! I don't know the Transkei at all, so I would love to go to the best possible fishing grounds! It would be for about 10days or so!

Well i sugest to go to Port st Johns,There is quit a bit of places to go to if u are staying there.

Poenskop

Lighthouse

Birds rock

Si Tonga

And if u have hair on ur teeth and BIGGG B@#LS the GAP

I got a contact there for a house that sleeps 10 guys for around R 600 per night (well that is if u are intresred)Oh and i know a guide (Rasta)that will show u around if u dont know the places.

One 4x4 is more then enough,u will only need it if u are going to Tonga and Poenskop.

Well that is my 2c worth,Let me know if there is anything els u want.

My suggestion is to go to the more remote places.

Still 'safe'.

Mboytjie is about 40 mins from Prt St Johns and pristine. Walk right along the beach and you get to Shark Point. Very cheap to rent there.

Wavecrest, Kob Inn areas are also full of fish.

Remote is better,

Around Shark poit (south of port st John's) is always good.

We normally stay at a Mpande house, can get you the contacts if you want to investigate prices etc. From Tombo down to coast

We were down there end July for 9 days and had loads of fun.

We visited most of the spots there incl shark point. Otherplace to visit within daily driving distance is Brazen Head etc.

Fishing is normally very good. We were a team of 7 landing over 200 fish for the trip, and fishing was bad. There was a lot of bid / badsandbanks right in front,so we battled to get good working spots.

Did land a 3.2kg Elf, and 5kg Musselcracker, but it should have been a lot better though

If you love elf, then there are plenty. Garrick also good, but scarse.

We did put out a few Slides for the sharkies, but only managed one nice pull before we got bitten off. Sure it was a black tip

Also, there are many locals that you can use as a guide, they know the placebig time, and worth paying them R50 per day.

The Rob , depends On what you are Targeting .
If you're an edibles fisherman , you Might get lucky at both Mbolompo , or Mpame, which are both Gret spots for edibles .
One of the Fellow Sealiners has a spot There , i think It's bulls inn , or something .Pm him for accomms .
you Might get an Excellent deal from him -His folksOwn the Place .Tell him Def sent you for a chaorow Deal !!

Now , if It's the Lurkies you're after - Well - Pm Me - I'm Not giving My bash spot away to the gauties . I'm Basically driving the hilux to the spot - and I'll friggin Camp it out !
My plan is to go there with 29" Length Arms , and come home with 34" ......

Hole in the wall is very nice but most of the spots are a mission to get a big fish out. Mazzepa is also supposed to be brilliant and is somewhat easier to land a big fish off the island

Great guys! Thanks for all the responses. I think we should maybe stay at St johns, and go to all the spots from there. Looks quite central, and seems like most of the spots are within an hour or so's drive. How far is Mbolompo / Mpame from St johns?? But if we can get a good price at Mbolomp / Mpame, then we can rather stay there. We mostly want to target edibles, not too keen on shark fishing, but we can try it out. You'll probably be able to catch a shark or two at basically any of the spots.
