Hi guys
I was at bronkies this weekend to do some bass fishing and saw allot of spawning and feeding carp. I have never caught carp on fly and would love to make it my next mission in life.
I saw allot of feeding carp and carp just swimming underneath the surface. The feeding bubbles was in 1-2m of water. What is the dept you should be targeting them and what flies should i use. Plus do you flavor the flies? Do you just cast the fly in the feeding spot and wait for the carp to pick it up? Any help would be appreciated as i have never tried it or even saw someone target carp on fly.
Thanks for any help.

One of my Favorite carp flies believe it or not is the wooly bugger with the blue-tinsel on each side!! I fish this very very slowly along the bottom and pause after 5 strips and start again, I have also had a lot of success on on an Orange red setter type fly and the white death, all fished pretty much the same way.

Hi, Try and do a search, you should find a piece I posted last year - courtesy of Sean Mills.

btw timjan, that piece fin-s posted is very well worth doing a search for if you're serious about catching carp on fly. sean is the man when it comes to carp on fly in south africa!

good luck man, it's not easy, but if you hook a fair sized carp on fly you'll never want to give it up!
