Hi Guys!
Thanks for all the replies. Keep them coming... in winter we will probably all struggle with lure catches, apart from the tails guys at Dassen of course, they've been cooking.
Anyhow I've been asked about the Palmiet river. Here is a GE photo. The P's is where you can park. I fish from the platform to the mouth and work the bank in between. There is plenty of small leeries around in summer. I don't know about other species though... One of the locals told me he catches small steenies in the system, but I haven't seen anything else but mullet and leeries.

Conrad is in a class of his own... Go have a look on the Breederiver thread. There's some really nice looking fish he caught from the Infanta side.

Leeries have been good for me in the lagoon but often it is a case of putting your lure in a 2x2m weed pocket on the edge of the channel where they are trapping the mullet before feeding. If you are not in the pocket at the right time then you blank. So it can mean very accurate 40m casts. But I am waiting for spring to come and then taking my floattube. A nice leerie on a floattube should be a blast!((r(e(ling

Hi guys!
Has anyone ever caught Kob in area between Strand and Bailey's on artificials? I know that it will be a struggle with kelp etc in the water, but there's some place like Macassar (on the left, off the sandstone banks)for example that looks amazing.
I'm sure a bucktail, paddle tail or spoon will get an inquiry...

Tuna fish is not lying.
Not trying to 'skat' but last year I managed a good leerie of around the 11kg mark and near 100 smaller ones. Well I do go fishing that place every second day sunrise to sunset in the summer. If you get a boat you can easily get 10 a day.

caught 2x elf over 2kg each at plaatjies kraal gaansbaai last week with bronze spinner (blood python 10ft rod ,exage reel with braid) late afternoon, just popped on to look at water on our way home from die damme, made three goois, "vas", got too dark then left.picture attached of the one for the pan that night.

When we lived in Lambertsbay I remember guys talking about catching Kob up as far as Lutzville, so there should be some around...
