Hi Guys,

I just got mailed this pic by a friend and I recognized the Point Hotel and Lighthouse in Mosselbay in the background. I don't have ANY of the details surrounding the incident so I'm NOT making judgements. I just think it's sad to see such a giant of the sea dead.

I'll see if I can get any more details but perhaps someone knows what happened here?

Please note that this fish was not caught anywhere near Mosselbay.  There is a shark research institute at the Point in Mosselbay.  They worked with National Geographic and a dead GW was brought down after it was caught in the shark nets in KZN.

It is a sad thing to see such an animal in my opinion but it's an occurance brought about by the shark nets in KZN, nothing else.

no i didnt post the picture, it's regarding all the other posts that have sprung up with the 2 photos of the great white.

A while back, Admin had taken a collective decision that any pics of a dead Great White or one that has been caught would be removed from the site.

We will have to re-look at this, and work out an easier way to inform new members that NO pics of Whites are allowed !
