Hi Guys,

Has any of you been there? Is it good for fishing and what other activities are there?

Have been to Morg's many times, mostly over April or December holidays. The hotel is a very very special and awesome spot.

Fishing varies, like most spots on the Wild coast.

Richard, the owner of Morgan Bay hotel knows the decent fishing spot well.

Have caught some decent cob and shad, both on lures and bait.

Good luck

Morning Karlr,

thanks for the reply. can you perhaps tell me if there are any other activities as i am taking my better half with and she needs to do something while i am fishing. Is there snorkelling or anything like that to do?

morning,

Plenty to do, but all on relaxing side.  Great beaches and good walks, especially the one to Double Mouth nature park. Snorkeling is good at this stretch.

Also walks to KEI river, and the hotel can pick you up.

Big lagoon to go rowing, birding (fish eagles etc ) the hotel rents out canoes etc.

Hotel also rents out quad bikes, and offers trips for the whole family to some tough offroading.

Morg's is all about relaxing and doing nothing. Very small place. Once you've been there, will always go back.

And get ready to pick up some weight, as the hotel has fantastic food.

cheers

Hi Wess, There is plenty to do for the nature lover and the area is also one of the safest. I normally stay at the Kei mouth caravan park during Dec.(less crowded and has a filling station/garage) Use the custom search facility on the home page and do searches on Morgan bay and Kei Mouth, Plenty of good advice and where to fish

If you are a surfer...there is an awesome point break that peels through there! Really excellent waves!

I camped at Yellowwood Forest Campsite in April. Camp sites are sufficient and reasonably priced, and the restaurant serves great food, especially the pizzas.

If you have children, the place is very child friendly with a play park and jungle gym etc.

There are no sea views from the campsite, it literally is in the forest. Morgan Bay itself is a two minute drive away.

I prefer the Morgan Bay area as it has a more remote feel, even though only 15min away from Kei Mouth.

You can still fish Morgan Bay in any event, and I highly recommend taking a drive to Double Mouth, even if only for the scenery.
