Got this Kob at Pearly Beach (Jan se klip) on Friday - 55cm(Prawn). Fished the whole day at 'Die Dam' on Sat, Nothing... although some guys caught a nice Steenbras further down, Sunday lost something decent at Blue Water Bay at Pearly, and caught a smaller Kob (released)... awesome conditions till the wind came up.

Hi there, I am off to Franskraal this weekend.

Unsure about what to expect in these conditions, mostly westerly winds past week, but turnng south-west Saturday lunch and SE thereafter. Wind prediction for Sunday is due East! Wave prediction approx 3m

Will die Gruis still be my best option? What about the Uilkraals Mouth, any suggestions should I target that area?

Thanks Silwervis

I'm off to Onrus this weekend, want to try mierkop on Saturday for some kob and maybe a verdwaalde steenie.  Any other spot suggestions from anyone? I hope the water temp and colour is ok after the nice SE wind.

Weather was great in CT yesterday so decided to get into the car and go down to Franskraal, where they said conditions were also favourable. As we entered Gansbaai, rain! This morning, mist is so thick, can bearly see the ocean.

on friday night my friends called me at 22:00 and told me the cob was there in full force,so told the gf sorry but i have to go now,so jumped in my bakkie and took my boat, next moring at 03:00 in the rain, wind and very very very thick mist we launched only riding on the gps as you cant even see 5meters so getting into holbaai with that big breakers with all the shallow reefs was very tricky, but boy was it worth it as soon as you drop your bait your vassss all fish between 2kg and 6kg caught about 200 in 4hours time and made are way back to the slip in that thick mist, thank god for the gps.on sat night we launched again in the mist, rain and wind got there drop the baits and again vas pappa easyly caught about a half a ton of cob in 2 sessions, but the weather made it n bit unpleasent, this is gonna be the best season of cob fishing in a long time in gansbaai:wfish:wfish:wfish:wfish

Saw your bakkie and trailer at the slip and wondered how you guys were doing. I don't know of any cathes from the beach, other than at Plaatjies, where some of the locals were catching cob.

Dammit Snotslang, julle manne vang darem lekker kabeljou...

Ek het n bloutjie geloop met n Gautenger wat R35 000 van my gesteel het met n internet scam deur n ad op Gumtree. So op die oomblik dien my boot net as n baie duur tuinversiering. Laat my weet as jy n spaar vissie ( Kabeljou ) het wat ek op die kole kan sit...
