Yup i am... going down on Friday to pre-fish, then off to the Berg for Honeymoon, back on Thursday for the tournament. Heard the fronts (with more on the way) have slowed things down ALOT. So could be tough times this year... then again maybe not.... tight lines!

Maybe a 10 fish bag of 22kg's... even that i think will be pushing it. Chatting to the local anglers (some of the usual prizes winners)... not likely! A couple of fish of 2+ came out on the weekend. 1 over 3kg's... that they are aware of. Put 250 boats on the water and hey... nice frontal weathered... pressurised dam conditions prevail...

Yeah, somehow I do not believe that there was a 22kg bag.... 22lbs maybe!!!However, this years AFBT will be just like the previous years.....Far to many boats on a small body of water, all fishing furiously during the sensitive spawning period, and then these same anglers all sit scratching their heads in January and February coz they can't catch any fish.

I am a bass fisherman, and it's becoming something I'm embarassed to mention. I think the relationship between green fish and "green backs" ie money is enough to make some people lose the plot completely, having said that though, tight lines to all, and please, if you catch a fish under 2kgs don't keep it in teh livewell. The team bag prizes are not worth the damage you do to fish stocks, and if the prizes are that desperately needed, you shouldn't be flying around in a high powered / expensive bass boat. DOINK !!!

We pre-fished the dam yesterday and had a ball… pretty much the best outing we have had on that dam in ages… our bag would have been just over 9kg’s and here is a pic of the biggest fish of the day at 3,58kg’s caught by my fishing buddy. The weather was awesome until the wind came up at around lunch time.

At last year's Albert Falls Tournament prize giving it was announced by Triton that they will be sponsoring a MIMNIMUM size Triton of 19' in 2008. Rutherford then stood up to the 'plate' and announced that they guarantee a minimum of 135hp Optimax. Gerry then announced that due to this the entry has to go up a 'little', but get your entries in ASAP!

NOW I SEE ON SABAA'S WEBSITE IT'S A 17'EXPLORER WITH A 2 STROKE 115!!!!!

What are your comments on this gents?

As far as I'm concerned it's fraud. (I was one of the fools to pay my R2500 the very next week! (2 entries)

Hey Fishton. I wasn't there last year but that def sounds like fraud and is rather concerning! Have you spoken to Gerry about this?
