Maybe Coxy/ Sealine should think of holding a workshop on a seperate day where the guys in the know can explain the finer detail of competitive angling etc. After all this is a competition.
Landy I would second this. It will be great in improving or rectifying mistakes that we make.

Good call, Meetup and registration at the car park behind the BP in Betty's would probably be most suitable, decide on Verwoerd Beach, Jocks Bay, Silversands etc and all move out together.

I have never fished comp either so we'll learn from the likes of Mike and Noweeds.
What I do get is the comp will work on the standard format of 2 points per Kg for Edibles and 1 point for non edibles (sharks and skate).
Comp will be based on a release basis, so you will measure the fish and note the species, that way the conversion to weight can be done, and then the final points are tallied.
My understanding is you must have a witness to verify your catch. I'm sure Mike and Noweeds will fill in the blanks.

ps all the anglers involved in cape town and surrounds must communicate for this to be a success.......taking into consideration that the natal waters start to come alive in june with the winter fish/sards[if they appear]

Very true. I just checked the natal thread.........those turkeys are forming up like a well oiled machine. Bait collection etc etc. They are fishing against us more than fishing against each other. (something to think about)!!!
