Hi guys after a recent post on my last topic luck vs skill i thought about my reel and its future performance and i usually just rinse it under cold running water and then remove the spool and rinse it and the other components like the shaft etc. Is this correct? And can i use rocket fuel on the inside or should i stick to daiwa reel oil? Which parts do i oil?

Regarding preventative care with a coffee grinder i am not exactly sure wat the procedures are but a thorough rinse should suffice.. But about the rocket fuel- i definately know that is not gonna assist you in any way..coffee grinders are fixed spool reels,hence the spool does not turn during a cast..therefore there is no spool bearings that need lubrication...

master what if you use rocketfuel/prolong mix in the gears and
bearings of the reel? when you servicing a coffee grinder its not about the casting but the performance of the reel like when you reeling a good fish in and the handle gets tight because the bearings and gears are dry,thats when you break a coffee grinder!!! i always used to use grease its works wonders because it water proofs the mechanism and also lasts long time but the only problem is that its too thick and slows the reel down. and an anti corrosion liquid should also work well for the crossfire.

the fundemental problem wih rocket fuel is its viscosity and lubrication facter, its a very weak oil and offers little in terms off corrosion protection...
