Hi Fishaholics

Whe planed to fish for carp in the Breede in Swellendam for quite some time and whe have the place to fish but with all the rain and floods it whas postponed with a moth so all the prep and pre feeding whent to waist in the river.

So whe got all the new stuff and waited for the first weekend that the river is slowed down and the sun is shinning.

so the weekend came and the weather looked great so thursday night i soaked 20kg of mielies till friday evening and whe started the boiling prosses.

and sit back and got mister olaf out the box and started the 4 hour wait lekker.

all whent whell whe got the kids to help with the grounding proses cuz whe whanted more of the cousin olaf.

So after all this whe drove to the fishing spot 1.5km away from my friends house
and start feeding the spot.

this is the friends house on the river just below whe are fishing.
wish i had it i would go nuts everyday.

so all the feeding done so now ready for a party cuz its the friends wifes birthday party.

so the Saterday morning whe whent and throw in some more feed and babaleer die res van die dag.

by 4oclock we started with just one beer and ended up getting to bed at 3oclock the morning doesnt matter whe are diehard fisherman.

got up at 06:30 and pack the bukkie and get to the place i started of making the groundbaits for the bombs.
and started to cast in the rods after that Petrus is busy offloading the bakkie and as whe were busy putting up camp the first rod goes a nice and healthy 5-6kg fish.

As i whas playing my fish Petrus's rod also whent so doubleup also a nice fish about the same size.

so ok this is noce for a start then for about half an hour goes by with no bites nice time to set up camp.

and as whe get settled i noticed my line keep on getting slack line so i reeled in and see this little bugger as i found out it is a Kaapse Witvis

adn as i am posing the other rod whent away only hands there whas Petrus son whe screamed at him to get to the rod an he is on with a nice fish and he lost it right at our feet.

then Petrus got another screaming reel and another fish landed

so it went quite gor about and hour or so and the rods started screaming again but this time 4 of them almost at once but luckily the women arrived with more drinks and food cuz this whas left when they arrived

so whe all were on with a fish and mine whas at my feet quick but what a fat girl she whas

placed her back safly and helped the girls to land theres because it is there first time fishing.

so she said she whill help my girl landing her's i must just coach them how so i did go take a seat and told them axactly what to do an into the net it goes

strugling to get hold of the fish but pose with it smilling

Goodluck kiss and of it swam

by then petrus has lost his fish behind a tree in the water so i swam out and removed the tree with the line still attached with the rig still in place but the fish is gone

then as i swam out my girl whas on with a fish and as i got back i saw here hold this beatifull fish posing for the camea
and as Enigma said it is a new woman's rekord Kaapse Witvis but this fish still swims it that pool with no record to claim becuz whe didnt know it would be.

and so me and petrus left the girls fishing on and they baited and casted them selfs after a few lessons becuz Petrus and I had to braai. so they cept on catching fish here is a few more pics.

So by 6oclock it whent quit becuz the wind had started to blow and the girls said they are tired and whant to go home so whe packed the bakkie and they left leaving Petrus and I there for 2more hours with a beatifull sunset and 2 more carp

so it whas a wonderfull day with good friends and some fish

Whe didnt pics of all the fish there wasnt time to take them becuz all of us whas bussy fighting fish at the same time lots of the time.

whe estimated whell over the 150kg of Carp and 40kg of Barbers on this day

The best baits whas Sweetcorn hole mielies or sweetcorn mielies and a pink sweet floaty.

Whe stayed at my friends hous about 1km away that house is my friends place he lives there but only on weekends or when he is not treveling.
