So I went with some family to Roodekopjes yesterday. We had fun.
Caught about 11 carp all between 2kg and 4.2kg. I was the specimen angler with 3 'papgooiers'...and I lost
I was the only 1 not catching anything! But was able to practise my newly learnt c&r as well as weighing fish in my new weigh sling and scale! I really enjoyed that!
The conventional guys were using some sliding strop with banana on the bol and banana mielies only.
We rowed in ±130m and it was about 6m deep where we dropped lines. The water is clean considering Harties. Only bad thing was the grass in the water...we didn't lose tackle, but getting the grass and weed of the spools were irritating.
Still, R40 a car and R30 pp...not bad. Had a great time and would like to go again in winter!
