Hi does anyone know if the musselcracker run has started yet in Mosselbay? we are going up at the end of the month  and want to know if you guys have shot any nice cracker lately near the point or cliffs area.

we are not brave enough to dive near the KLIP :sharkor any where in the bay cause of the GW population so we will play it safe at the cliffs.

Is their no news on what the diving in mossel bay is like?

I just heard on the radio that a fishing trailer capsized near mosselbay harbour due to very rough seas with gale winds, hope the crew are alright and get rescued safely.

Is Attie Lourens still diving ?

I think so, we saw him last week at a club meeting so I assume he is still at it.

The fishermen are getting cracker here, from the side, so they are around.

I used to compete against Attie, Anton de Kok and Jannie Ras in the eighties and nineties.

Those are all good divers, Anton actually stays near me, I know him also from work. He is still diving very well.

 

Glad to hear the cracker are around. Just hope the water is divable.

There is a strong south easterly blowing at the moment and the water on the outside is 12 degrees, but clean.

jensent had a thread about cracker in Mosselbay, but because he put a photo of the one whose name we do not mention in the thread, the Gestapo deleted it.

PM him, maybe he has more info.

Hi Moggy

I just mailed Jentset, that shark was from durbs as i spoke to a spearo in mosselbay, he said it died in the nets at Durbs and it was sent to mossels for research.

Why are they removing the white pics? Strange stuff???

He also said there is not much cracker action there cause of the recent bad sea conditions but maybe it will get better by the weekend.

Somebody posted the stats of the White and I wanted them, but then the thread got deleted.

I don't know the reasoning behind deleting the pics, because, if anything, it alerts people to the fact that shark nets kill whites and a lot of other sharks and dolphins.
