Hi Almal
i got this link from a friend that has been playing around with different casting techniques.
http://www.gofishing.co.uk/Sea-Angler/Section/how-to/Sea-Fishing-Advice/Fishing-Tips/Casting-Guidance/How-to-cast-part-1/
The Easy Cast or Brighton style
The idea was that sometimes on a crowded beach/pier/rock the pendulum or cast around the body (the big guys will know what i mean)could hurt, injure people and also your rod (if clipped with another).
Has anyone tried this way of casting?
Kobus (Friend) said after a couple of tries he is getting reasonable distance with this way , of laying the line back towards you before the cast. (about 80% of normal distance with rod weight)but he added that line control is very good, even surprising.
Also the cast can be much more vertical and over the head than with other ways.
I would love to hear your views on this as i am unable to try it until maybe next weekend.
I am not a pro caster by any means and for some reason crows love me to bits. (the kraaines)
but wouldn't the flick of the tip caused by early loading of the rod cause trouble?
Regards en Lekker aand
