Hi All you CLEVER Sealiners,

I have a Furuno fish finder  / GPS on my Leecat and I am fitting a Raymarine 50D Gps / Fishfinder as a back up. I am one of those safety MAD skippers !!

The Raymarine is going to be fitted mainly as a back up GPS (I have it already) hence ftting it .... Now this got me thinking if I connect the 2nd fish finder facility and fit the Fish finder unit, will it operate 100% or will the two "sonars" intervere with each other...?

Please advise as I do not want to waste bucks on the additional transducer ...

Been there tried that.

If you run 2 transducers, the "echo" of the second ping will appear as interfrance on both sonars, you can still use it but it is not nice and your picture is not clear.

You can fit it as a back up, and then select to turn the tranducer off on one unit so that if you need a back up you can simply turn it on.

I have 2 and use them in this way and so I have a back up.

You can select 2 different ping rates which will reduce 'interference', but will not get rid of it entirely.
