hi all, im very new to jet skiing. loving it, when my skis are actually running that is, at the moment. got a couple of xp ltd that i bought from a
ski shop about 3 months ago. awsum and fun to ride. about a month ago i got a 96 wave blaster from a friend. very good nick but for some reason i cant stay on the thing. keeps falling over. even when i get going cant seem yo keep my balance. is there a knack to riding these skis or am i hopeless??

I have left the aquatic-antics for quite some time now,so I stand to be corrected,but here goes.

The 96 Wave-blaster was a fairly light small-hulled craft which made it difficult to ballance, untill you get the hang of it..Anybody over roughly 80 kilo's would battle to stay on top when floating without any forward momentum.(can be done though).Ladies seemed to ballance better for reasons which I am not willing to reveal here,lets just stick to lower center of gravity.

Once you get going there is a tendency to overcompensate for the ''barrel-roll effect that this craft has,and this is normally when the rider topples over.It will just take a short while to get used to this(steer in the direction that you are falling over to,whilst giving juice) and then you'll have loads of fun.It is not a stable enough craft to fish off(although its been done),and also you can add inflatable pontoons either side for stability,if you wanted to fish off it.

It remains a great fun ride once you have it mastered,perhaps you remember the old ""Winston-cigarette,team" used those very same craft for some huge aerial antics in the surf at displays country-wide,every Christmas hols.Their's were just fitted (amongst others)with dual-carbs and a serious Banshee-pipe.

thanks for the info. got a buddy thats 10kgs lighter than me (70) never been on a ski in life, climbed on first time and nailed it. rode it like a pro. guess i need more practise. must say its more reliable than the xp. had them back at the shop 4 times already. lets hope the next outing will be trouble free.

Again,once you get the hang of the Blaster you will be amazed at it's manouverability.Doing 360's and spin outs, etc becomes childs play even at very low speeds.Have mine and a Wave-Raider 700 since mid-late 90's,only ever needed to replace CDI unit on the Blaster.Just havent been on the water for a year or three now
