Hi, fish taken at Arniston.
Respect mate!

We dived the Arniston hotel pinacles, then moved to that point behind you in the afternoon. We picked up a few Roman and some reefies in the outside of the point. Did you get those fish on the wild side or on the beach side.

Either way bru,
Love your work!

Cheers,
Andie

Hi Andie

Got them both on the wildside. Was very hard work, garrick gave me a good tow around and i ended up loosing my weight belt. I was tired after that and the waves just kept on coming.
Cracker was shot in the foam and was like diving in a rapid in a river. Huge current and waves all over the place make it very unpleasant but it can be rewarding if you persist.

Hi Pelagic
Awesome specimens there !!!
I was the bloke with the landy, was spearing on the righthand side of you allso waiting for some cracker to pass by. Once again, congrats on that cracker, after I saw you passing by with it between you legs I just knew my chances were slim for them to come through again,^^..,but persisted for another hour in that "turbulent washing machine",luckily two came pass me,and with a whole lot of regret, got a shot in and either got reefed or pulled the spear! :( I regret the shot taken, think that fatique had played a big part in it,most probally one of the most difficult spots to spear but so worth it! Anyway, next time!Oh yeah, got hold of your weight belt but unfortunately could not retrieve it all the way, left it behind a rock, will let you know if I find it next time. Cheers ,Jack.

Funny thing is... I let my boet talk me out of diving that side in the afternoon... Another mate of mine landed some Kob n the vicinity around 15:30...

I look forward to diving the wild side soon... I love diving in those conditions... Makes me feel like hunting... I like targeting the Gallies in those conditions...

Keep well and keep the pics coming...

You guys from the Cape either have seriously big balls or just plain stupid. We have a problem with Zambi's and Blacktips but Whites are a whole new ball game.

Very nice Garrick!

Hi Choka, where did you guys get the white at Arniston? Was that during a shore dive?
I have dived there for the past 12 years and never bumped into one but it all depends on where you dive as some spots are frequented by them a lot more than other places. I have seen yellow belly rock cods a few times but then that diving from a boat and towards skipskop which is well known for great whites.
I have been told by tommy botha that he once had a white buzz him in the white water while shooting craker at the point, and that is shallow water and another friend was buzzed by a white at bulldog rock (start of saxon reef) just off the point. Some guys swim to this rock but from diving off boats there in the past i would def never shore dive this spot as its asking for trouble.

It was my fist shore dive at Arniston! It buzzed me in abou 3meter water while I was swimming in toward the slipway about 400meters out

That sounds terrible, especially on your first dive there!
Just goes to show that its all about been in the right place at the right time or is that the wrong place at the right time^^..
