hey guys,

anyone been to de voetpadkloof just outside of middelburg?

i am going camping there in a couple of weeks' time, and saw that their website states they have bass and kurper in their dam.

I visited de voetpadkloof i few years ago,there is some nice bass in the dam we used to catch between 5 and 10 in the mornings of the jetty.All over 1 kg. We saw 3 kg bass came out while fishing for small kurper.

Was just talking to Ryan about that ...I'm going to camp at DeVoetpadkloof next week ... was there December 2007, and we hammered the bass ...this time I'm going to try to get some kurpers as well ...

not at all sure if they allow day visitors, and i have heard that you need to book in advance. we booked our stay about two months ago, but they didn't say how busy they were  at the time

Yep ...have to book well in advance ...but only for the well known long weekends and holidays ... as far as I know, no day visitors allowed ..

how did it go, sonix? i'm going there over the weekend, will be targetting bass mainly. but will also go for a kurper or two. apparently they used to have papierbek back in the day, not sure if they have anymore.

Nog nooit daar gehengel nie net gekamp jammer man. Ander damme in die middelburg omgewing se bass is almal mal oor super flukes, die watermelon kleur chatterbait is great vir bosveld hengel, dit maak great vibrasie, dit lyk soos die kos in die omgewing se kleur en dit maak ook lekker lawaai wat bass mooi lok veral in die winter wanneer hul minder aktief is.

vat ook dalk vir jou n rapala saam en ook 1 of 2 topwater baits.

I am going down to PE in september for a week and also gonna go deep sea fishing on my second day there.

I am really exited to try my chatterbaits in the sea, i heard they work wonders.

Ek het nog nooit daaraan gedink nie, maar hoe meer ek daaraan dink hoe meer begin dit na 'n goeie plan lyk.

went camping there a couple weeks back, and only got to do about 3hrs of fishing. caught a couple of tiny ones on shaky heads with green pumpkin trick worms. good fun, but no big ones.

some of mates tried with inline spinners and small crankbaits (cordell big O's) without any luck
