It is clear that something major has happened between  members of Sealine top structure. I would have thought that we deserved an answer but it seems like that's will not be forthcoming. Reefman, Kumz and Homie are not on this site anymore and we are not getting any joy from  the current mods except for some lame excuses about it not being because of money and some demands that could not be met. We have no idea of whether the resignations of the above mentioned moderators are linked or not. It does seem to be the case. Why does someone not clear this up for us. This issue is affecting more than 14000 members. Yes I know that Sealine will go on but the ghost of this will dampen much of the benefits that Sealine offers.

Will someone please at least tell us what is happening and where we go from here. Well I guess not and Sealine will not exactly be the same for me again.

In any case thanks to the guys rebuilding this site especially Trophy and Enigma. I am sure we will also learn a lot from their posts and the posts from the rest of the members.

Chris

Hi Chris!Know you're concerned & you mean well,& much like most want to preserve Sealine in all its glory.

But Homie's just tied the knot,so he's looking at his career and future. So,he needs a break.I spoke with Homie just today.Let's appreciate what he has offerred to Sealine & let's all give Homie a break.

Having said that,if it wasn't for Emperor,we wouldn't have had a Sealine nor have had the privilege of knowing Homie,Kumz,or even Reefman.

Being part of Sealine team takes a lot of sacrifices and dedication, and the team really doesn't get the accollades they justly deserve.

Homie's a man of his word!He said he's taking a break & there's no doubt he'll be back.

Cheers!

Yes you are correct. Sealine will go on and we all need to do our bit. Luckily we have some whose bits are bigger than most. Once again thanks to all of them.

Sealine still rocks and I am not shooting down Emperor.

Chris, there is really nothing to clear up, see my previous post, see Walts post.

Yes Reefman and Kumz has left the admin of Sealine. Homie is on leave. I dont want to use the word resigned again, because you have to be employed to resign. All Admin personnel are volunteers

None of the previous and current Admin members are employed. We all do it for the love of the sport. We spend all hours absolutely free on the forum to keep it up and running for ourselves and 14000+ other members.

Every now and again things like this happen in all walks of life and institutions and forums, ours has now happened, and a couple of things had to be changed, was changed and we roll as before.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing different to the Sealine of a month ago than to the Sealine of now, apart from a change of priorities in admin.

The old story that Sealine is in financial difficulty is the same as the day when Sealine started.

First of all, before you can be in financial difficulty you have to generate an income.

We dont, we haven't. Sealine is still a free site as from day one. Its gets paid, has been paid, and will be paid every month. Not for one day has a financial burden been placed on any member or Admin member.

Think about it where else would you get another  forum with 14000+ members which has been running free for its members for so long.

We have the odd fund raiser once in a while which contributes to the running of Sealine. Do a search and see how much money is actually obtained from these.

Let you in on a secret, it costs a hell of a lot of money to cater for a forum this size.

You say there are 14000 members who are worried about Sealine, we at Admin are worried about 14000 members.

The dedication of members is great, you say it yourself, the lost info is being replaced by dedicated members such as Trophy and Enigma and others.

With the size and quality of a forum like Sealine dont you think we would have a complete back up somewhere? You answer for yourself.

So Chris I hope this clears up all the questions and removes all the lame excuses.

Well said Simen!
We were saddened by the choices that were made, but these things happen for what ever reasons...Sealine will continue growing from strength to strength in all areas of this wonderful sport and recreation.
...After all Sealine is the Facebook or fishing!
What was left behind was a massive pair of shoes to fill and we ALL need to step up and replace the type of information that makes this site such a wonderful resource to angling.
With 14,000 members it's a job that can be made very light if we all get involved in adding value not only in the social threads, but also in the content threads.
It may have been depicted as a single source, but our Seaine knowledge comes from the wide and varied experience of members. So, we have lost nothing but dedicated time and effort taken to depict this knowledge.
I have not said much regarding recent events...mainly because I there is not much to say except that I have my own personal opinion and that has no place here.
Please don't think I'm happy or excited or that I'm trying to get myself into the limelight by trying to replace information that was taken / removed from Sealine. It's just that I enjoy my time spent here and want new folks to have access to the type of information that got me hooked onto this site!
So, if you have got any post, ideas, content, corrections to add...go ahead and make them. If you want to chat about how to go about them, then lets chat about it...
Most of all lets stop all this cloak and dagger nonsense and enjoy ourselves!
