HELPING AMATEURS

This goes out to all you experienced chaps! Please, if there is any info on where to go and what bait to use on west coast, false bay, and Atlantic seaboard, please post your comments here. being new to fishing can be really frustrating if you dont know where to go.

I vaguely remember going to places like froggy's pond with grandad back when he was still with us to fish for Roman and the like. Now, i notice there is just bamboo in the water.

When it comes to Atlantic Seaboard, i have heard of Glen beach being a good spot and also Bantry bay. Tried to talk to security at the waterfront about possibly getting permission to fish off the breakwater but no go.

I am planning to go out tomorrow but not sure where yet. so far, i have been to Gaansekraal and got two under size hotties and a kob at Strandfontein. Please guys, help!

Welcome to sealine boet. Run a search on the forum for areas, species and bait used. Certain areas deliver different species and even that can differ during the different seasons. To start with tho , id say if its blowing se, hit false bay, try broken road, sonwabe, or beespens. Bait would be worm , prawn , mussel, red bait, chocka and sard. But predominantly prawn and worm and mussel. If its nw, go gallie hunting in the kommetjie , soetwater or misty cliffs area.. Mussel and wonder worm. The tides should still be good so try infront of the lighthouse in kommetjie on the high or the tidal pool at soetwater
