hey guys

i have recently just started spearfishing and i need help, i live in table view and looking for a buddy to dive with and most of all i dont know any of the spots to dive and where we are not allowed to dive so please guys any help or info would be highly appreciated

Hi WP,

The best shortcut for you would be to join a club.This gives you a chance to meet other divers and get the opportunity to dive off of boats etc.

The Bellville Club is the nearest to Table View and meets every Wednesday night at 8pm.They are just off Frans Conradie Drive at Danie Uys park.

Ask for any of the committee members and they will help you out.

do you know perhaps what are the regulations are for blouberg and melkbos areas as far as spearfishing is concerned cause i have done some free diving in the area and have seen some decent fish

All areas there are open for spearfishing,there is only the crayfish no take area from Melkbos to Hout Bay.

Post some pics of any fish you take in the area,would be good as this area is considered pretty much a desert besides the odd fish from the kelp at Melkbos.
