I need help
Im from Umdloti and getting visitors from JHB, where can I take them to fish, active area between Durban and Saltrock.
Can anybody help

Hey Rion,

It really depends on their experience and what you wanna target eds or non eds?

If they are not experienced then take them to a beach and not the rocks.

Good beaches in that area are Umdloti, La Mercy, Westbrook.

Good points in that area are Salt Rock, Boulder bay, Ballito pool, High Rock.

Not sure how the greys doing as it is a bit early for them but there should still be some small brown skates, diamonds, sandies, honeys.

On the edible side you should get some bone fish, wave garrick, stumpies as well.

I am sure some of the guys will reply to your post - maybe some of the guys got a better idea of what happening there right now.

thanks, my visitors are experienced but need to take eds home, at the momemt Umdloti only offers small rock fish, we need some biiig edibles

Chakkas High Rock had a diamond smash last weekend after 3 days of east. The water is a bit clean at the mo so... east blow.... east blow. Friday night/saturday morning before the west looks good to get tifgt so go down. I heard that some kob have been coming out at the tongaat river mouth after dark, but all on the small side.
I would suggest chakas high rock for the variety that comes out. Yiu can also give me a PM and i'll give you the no. of our local fish shop the the biiig eds. Good luck Pucky

thanks for advise, will try shakas,Umdloti only gives rockfish, although I landed bronze bream of 3.5kg
