Hi guys - perhaps this has been covered but I don't have the time to read thro' all the posts..

Here goes: I have caught many Barbel before & my PB is 15kg's...on a boilie..tho' my target species is Bass & Specimen Carp-anyway I will be getting platties soon hopefully & I'm targeting a local dam.

I need advice on a barbel rig for platties - type of hooks etc...

THANKS GUYS

MUCH APPRECIATED

2X vmc circle hooks, 4/0

1x 1/2 an meter of fleurocarbon

1x swivel

1x sliding lead 1/4 ounce

snell both hooks starting with the bottom hook, make sure they face opposite direction when tight, they should only be about 6 to 10 cm apart depending on plattie size, much like preparing a slide trace,

fasten the swivel to the leader and slide the lead up your main line before fastning it to the other side of the swivel,

then you set to go

tight lines

sorry about the poor quality pic, you can also use one circle through the nose but i preffer this method, you seldom miss a fish
